An emerging artist, Steve Demyan’s exploration of memory and reality is expressed through the fluid movements and chaotic forms within his paintings. Pulling from abstract expressionism, he creates his body of work using ink and acrylic, allowing the mediums to merge organically while simultaneously manipulating the composition. This represents fragments of memory reconstructed through a series of seemingly uncontrollable reactions. Each physical layer signifies an amendment in time, a point of view that has been altered by the response it antagonized.
Born and raised in Mansfield, OH, Demyan studied History at Ohio University for three years before receiving an education in Fine Arts from Columbus College of Art and Design. He continues to further expand his knowledge through constant experimentation. He currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
